Bad Place / Good People
What is prison really like for the people inside and the officers who work there? Why prison is seen so negatively, how a facility actually runs day to day, and the people — officers and inmates alike — who make it function.
From the guide
The terms prison and incarceration by their very nature are viewed negatively. Incarceration is one of the primary means of punishment for crime in the United States.
A prison is a secure institution for the confinement of criminals; it serves as a place for punishment, rehabilitation, and the safe custody of individuals. The circumstances which transition a civilian into an inmate do not have any influence over their care, custody, and control once they have entered an institution.
