Programs are recommended to inmates in an effort to assist in their rehabilitative effort. Research has shown that participation in programs significantly reduces recidivism rates.
Participation or a refusal to participate in recommended programs is reported to judges and / or probation / parole authorities. There are many different types of programs available for inmates to participate in, they may include an aspect of one of the following types of programs: Academic – improving inmate academic levels.
